Surveillance Feedback: Yes. It is a basic privacy issue.

Surveillance Feedback: Of course it isn’t legal, unless you have permission from the users. That is considered an invasion of privacy, same as putting one in the bathroom.

Surveillance Feedback: um yes it is…..there is never a reason to have a camera in a locker room unless your a sexual predator.

Surveillance Feedback: It is only illegal to have CCTV in an area where privacy is expected. In locker rooms within a gym such as Gold’s Gym there is little expectation of privacy since people can come and go as they please.

However, in a changing room, there is a different expectation of privacy as there is a lock on the door. You can have a CCTV just outside the dressing room, but not inside.

As for the locker room, you can probably have a CCTV in certain areas, but they may be required to let you know.

Surveillance Feedback: In the U.S. it very illegal.

When you are in a public place, privacy is not expected nor protected. CCTV cameras are permitted in these places.

If you are in a place that a reasonable person would consider private (such as bathroom stalls and changing rooms) then your privacy is protected by Federal law and any type of cameras are illegal.

Surveillance Feedback: if i were getting beat up in the locker room, I would hope there was CCTV, but if I was getting undressed etc I would hope there wasnt.

I guess that there has to be CCTV and the people who view it need to be discretional. I think its totally legal as long as people know that its going on and can maybe chioose to get changed in a private cubicle.
