Lorex DVR Systems - Protecting Your Premises With SurveillanceBy Hahn Baker Lorex DVR systems are used by a multitude of home and business owners to protect their properties from intruders. Installing a surveillance system in your home or business can prove to be a beneficial deterrent against both the professional and opportunistic thief. Modern surveillance system technology takes the complication out of setting up a fully functional surveillance system within your premises. If your home or business is connected to the Internet you can connect your surveillance system to your broadband router, once done the system can alert you through your phone or email address if there is an intruder on site. This may seem a little extreme to many people however with the current rate of break ins suffered by the victims of crime it makes sense to make your premises secure. Although many of us have become desensitised towards reports of property theft, injury and loss of life due to break ins the message doesn't hit home until it becomes a personal experience. The sad truth is when most people have their property stolen it is by someone who they know, if the thief steals regularly a surveillance system can help you to catch them in the act. Besides giving any victims a sense of justice in an ideal scenario the criminal may be held accountable for any previous occurrences of theft. Thankfully there are a multitude of security recorders available that enable home or business owners to protect their premises with a surveillance system as basic or extensive as they wish. Most of these do not require any particular expertise to set up, admittedly some of the more technical functions such as remote monitoring may require the system owner to take a long hard look at their user guide. Its not uncommon to find security recorders that include software on CD, typically it is installed on a PC and guides you through the process of setting up remote monitoring. Standalone security recorders can accommodate anything from 1 to 16 security cameras. The majority of today's security recorders store camera footage digitally so you can leave them operating for months, they don't require you to regularly purchase tape or other storage mediums and you connect them to your TV or monitor. Alternatively you can opt for a complete system, these include everything from a monitor, surveillance cameras and a recording device. Dedicated surveillance systems come in a variety of shapes and sizes and they have varying capabilities, they can be used to detect an intruder on your premises by means of motion, sound and/or heat detection. Why wait for a thief to steal or damage something of value when a surveillance system can alert you before a thief enters your premises? You can use the early warning provided by the surveillance system as an opportunity to alert the authorities about the thief's activities. A surveillance system can prove to be a worthwhile investment, weigh up their costs against the cost of the property they protect and ask yourself weather it will be cheaper to invest in a surveillance system or replace that property. Nobody wants the trouble of making a claim to their insurance company due to a break in, a surveillance system can help you to avoid that and other theft related stress.
